Beverage Expert — Balkans Area Position at MONIN:
As Beverage Expert for the Balkans area, you are the brand and liquid expert for MONIN in the region. Your mission is to drive brand desirability, product usage, and commercial impact through education, inspiration, and market expertise.
You act as a key bridge between local market realities and MONIN’s global strategy, working closely with Sales Directors, local Brand Ambassadors, and importers.
You are a credible professional with strong field experience, able to train, influence, and inspire bartenders, baristas, and commercial teams while contributing to strategic thinking at regional and global level.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced beverage professional with hands-on expertise as a bartender and/or barista, and proven experience in training, brand activation, or field roles.
Above all, we are looking for someone curious, proactive, adaptable, and passionate about beverages, trends, and innovation, who thrives in a dynamic and international environment.
Role & Responsibilities
Brand Education & Training
Act as the lead professional trainer for the region.
Design and deliver beverage and bartending trainings for bartenders, baristas, HORECA professionals, importer sales teams, and key accounts.
Organize masterclasses and educational events in collaboration with local Brand Ambassadors.
Ensure excellent product knowledge and correct usage of the MONIN portfolio across markets.
Field Activation & Trade Marketing Support
Support the execution of MONIN’s trade activation strategy in the region.
Contribute to the development and implementation of trade marketing tools with HQ (menus, co-branding tools, POS, incentives, activation concepts).
Ensure brand consistency across all activations while allowing relevant local adaptation.
Key Accounts & Multi-Unit Development
Work closely with the Sales Director, Beverage Expert team, and Brand Ambassadors to support key accounts and multi-unit operators.
Develop tailored beverage solutions and recipes adapted to customer needs (QSR, casual dining, coffee chains).
Introduce MONIN innovations and support new product launches in customer menus.
Participate in customer presentations, workshops, and concept development when required.
Portfolio & Market Expertise
Act as a portfolio consultant for local importers.
Introduce MONIN innovations and new product launches in the field.
Collect structured feedback from bartenders, customers, importers, and Brand Ambassadors.
Identify local trends, consumer insights, and channel dynamics (bars, coffee shops, casual dining, leisure, cash & carry, e-commerce).
Provide recommendations on portfolio optimization and flavour priorities.
Contribute to regional and global discussions on innovation and portfolio development.
Brand Ambassador Coordination
Work in close collaboration with local Brand Ambassadors.
Provide expertise, tools, and best practices.
Review monthly activity reports and provide qualitative feedback.
Share cross-market insights and successful initiatives.
Reporting & Strategy Feedback
Collect and structure market feedback from the field.
Provide regular insights to the Sales Director and Global Trade Marketing.
Be responsible for quarterly regional beverage reporting with qualitative market analysis.
Global Beverage Expert Community
Participate actively in EMEA Beverage Expert meetings.
Share best practices, tools, and success stories.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of MONIN global BE standards.
Social Media & Marketing
Support digital and marketing teams with content creation (recipes, drink photography, interviews, etc.).
Support local social media activities.
Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience as a bartender and/or barista.
Proven ability to train and inspire professionals.
Experience in training, brand activation, or field roles is essential.
Sales or marketing experience is a plus.
Excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Commercial mindset with understanding of HORECA and key accounts.
Solid understanding of the beverage industry (spirits, non-alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, coffee).
Microsoft Office proficiency and basic social media/content knowledge.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Curious, proactive, and customer-focused with a strong ambassadorial mindset.
Location
Ideally based in Croatia, The role involves frequent travel across the region (~50%)(Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Montenegro).
